Tipi is up ….

12 07 2010

As our guests from France, Canada, and the US arrived this weekend, they saw a new but ancient site emerge in the clearing below the lodge. From the Dakota language, “TI” to dwell, and “PI” to use for, our Red Reflet TIPI has now taken its place by the waterfall, next to the pond. Assembled with authentic poles, willow pegs, and complete with designs on the canvas walls, our guests can walk up, sit inside and envision the life of the Plains Indians (the ancestors that roamed the canyon thousands of years ago) who used these very ingenious structures for their shelters, rituals, and gatherings.
